5th November 2016: Tongbong Rd to Rylstone

COMMERCIAL BENEFIT: Small towns such as Lue can benefit enormously from cycling –walking trails passing through. Photo of Lue Railway Station and Lue Pub in the background—potential destinations for walkers and cyclists.

Mudgee bushwalkers and Bike Riders Club is seeking per-mission from the NSW Government for the public to be able to ride and walk within our extensive network of rail corridors.

The currently disused rail corridor between Kandos and Mudgee should be made open for walkers and cyclists as a first step. The trail would provide an economic boost through tourism to each location between.

Even in its current state much o f the trail is negotiable by mountain bike and certainly walking.
The proposal has been supported in principle by the Mid-Western Regional Council. The key step is the NSW Gov-ernment giving consent for the general public to access the disused rail corridor for cycling and walking purposes.
