Mount Arthur Reserve, Wellington NSW

Mount Arthur Reserve, Wellington NSW

Date: Sunday 21st May, 2017

REPORT/LOG:

12 Members of our club met at the Old Reservoir Picnic Area at Mount Arthur Reserve as arranged on a beautiful sunny day for morning tea.

We departed on our trek at about 10.30 up to Mount Wellesley along the Trig trail which starts on the other side of the road to the picnic area.

After a slow and steep walk along the track  following the yellow paint dots either on tree trunks or rocks, we stopped at a point which had fabulous views of Wellington.

A bit further along the track we all made it to the Trig Point where we had 360 degree views. Then we descended Mount Wellesley along the Waterloo Trail.

This trail is a lovely track winding back to the Old Reservoir Picnic Area along dry creek beds, fern gully’s and beautiful scenery up and down but not as steep as the ascent to Mount Wellesley.

We stopped for lunch along the way in the middle of a dry creek bed.  When we stopped for rests you could hear and see the small birds going about their daily routine.  We all had a lovely day and hope to return and walk other tracks in the Mount Arthur Reserve.
