Several walks on offer for this Warrumbungle weekend. Note: Book & arrange you own accommodation of choice and park fees are applicable and MUST be settled prior to the day of the walk.

Walk title: #2 Breadknife Grand High Tops Walk Distance: 12.5km return 4-5hrs Grade: 3 Moderate to steep walk. Start Time: 8:30am Meeting Point: Pincham Car Park (easy to find) -just 150mts further past the turn, for the Visitors Information Centre – turn left to Pincham Car Park.
Description plus –It’s a walk with amazing views, don’t forget the camera and although a hardish walk it is the jewel of the Warrumbungle hikes. Taking it steady with plenty of rest stops so everyone can enjoy the walk and return for more adventures on Sunday.
Date: Sunday: 17thAugust 2025 “Mystery walk/s revealed” Walk: #13 Tara Cave Walk Distance: 3.4km Grade: 2 moderate from Old Woolshed Picnic Area followed by Walk: #9 Burbie Canyon loop Walk, Walk Distance: 3.5km, Grade: 3 easy/moderate from Burbie Canyon carpark.
Sunday walks start Time: 8:30am. For this walk we will also meet at Pincham Car Park (easy to find) -just 150mts further past the turn, for the Visitors Information Centre – turn left to Pincham Car Park- then after the ‘hard core walker’s depart’ head off to the Tara Cave/Burbie Walks.
Arriving in the area Friday night and departing late Sunday. (or stay on optional)!
Accommodation to be booked by the individual at location of choice- in town, camping etc-
Several staying in town and will travel to start of walk: allow 35min as its a 33km drive.
Notes:
Camp Blackman a good choice however, several Park campsites are available – so if utilising those please don’t forget to book and pay your fee’s www.nationalparks.nsw.gov..au or call 1300072757.

Additional Information: The turn-off to Warrumbungle National Park is clearly signposted.
Directions From Coonabarabran (from PO):
- Take Dalgarno Street west from Newell Highway/John Street
- Turn right onto Namoi Street, then turn left onto Eden Street
- Following signs for Warrumbungle National Park, travel along Timor Road/John Renshaw Parkway for approx. 35km.
- Following the signs within the national park, turn right off John Renshaw Parkway and travel approx. 300m to the visitor centre.
I think we have most things covered: but please remember your bushwalking PPE/walking poles, safety gear, walking poles and most importantly take care of your food/hydration needs.
The club will have on walks; the essential club equipment, however if you have an extra PLB or walkie talkie or would like to assist any of the leader(s) in some way please get in touch.
The club equipment will be distributed by the Leader(s) for the walks once participants are ‘ready, set- to go’. What a great experience the Warrumbungles will be for all.
