2024 Canberra -Aussie Peace Walk hosted by ACT Rotary District 9705 (brief)

Dates: Saturday 23 March and Sunday 24 March 2024.

Aussie Peace Walk: This is a two day walking challenge held in Canberra. The walk is a project of LifeSmith Pty Ltd a profit for purpose entity established to support Australian Rotary Clubs and fund-raising activities. As a club members have been participating since 2010 with Life Member Eunice Marskell encouraging club to participate. Noting: 14 club members took part in 2023, and joined in with 300 others from around the world.

This year their 3rd year supporting Rotary District 9705 Canberra and all funds raised will go to “Health Projects”. It is a walk not a run, with plenty of time to chat with fellow walkers from all over the world.

The earlier you Register the better the ‘deal’

A walk that you can even stop for coffee on the way. There is no rush. Enjoy the views and greeting Rotary/SES/personnel at the checkpoints. You have to do the distance that’s the challenge. Plus a great way to explore Canberra. Participants have a choice in the distance they prefer to walk: Saturday – 7km, 11km, 21km and 42km, Sunday – 7km, 12km and 24km. For 2024 they have promised a change in walk area’s- keep you posted. Maps are provided via the website and on the day of walk. A briefing is held prior to the walks.

To receive the Aussie Peace Walk Medal (like this one) you must walk on both days.

All you have to do now is register for the walk through secretary/co-ordinator. This way we Register as a Club activity and noted on Registration. Taking Registrations now!
