Cullen Bullen State Conservation Area (Report)

Sunday 23 July 2023 The Wattle is Out !

What a start to the day! One frosty morning…. 31 participants grouped together for a briefing at Lovejoy carpark area, before turning off the Castlereagh Highway approx 5kms from Cullen Bullen to take in and enjoy a walk in the State Conservation Area. A briefing and early morning tea all while leaders prepared the equipment. The undulating terrain for the first 2kms warmed the group. Pagodos to break and take in the view along the way! The wattle plentiful with no ill effects; and as promised a view for all to enjoy a lunch break, while our artist did a quick sketch to capture the view. Another group photo (trying to replicate a photo of club activity held back in 2011) with a difference. The patient camera operator captured more than a few members; and yes finally the photo done. A warm welcome goes to young Charlie and his dad Don now new members. Also we had Kell & Jase join in for today along with Gudi’s friend Bruce. The majority of members tackled a moderate grade walk tracking up approx 10 1/2 km. Today Elly was sent our ‘map sharing’/tracking” to keep her in the loop. Thank you to Leader(s) Feroz, John & Joby Mitchell.
