Gardens of Stone State Conservation Area – Lithgow
Brief Notes:
- Format: Multiday walk or optional one day
- Car access/road conditions: please note the road into the GSSCA is very rough and bumpy in places. May not be suitable for long slung/sports cars.
- Mobile phone: Mobile service is patchy to non-existent.
- Accommodation: apparently the Power Station at Lithgow is completing major works over the next 3 months and contractors have booked up much of the
accommodation. If you are keen to come to Lithgow for the weekend, it is recommended to book your accommodation as soon as possible. - Please remember to assess the club grade and distance to suit your abilities.
- Timing: daily timing can be adjusted dependent on weather conditions i.e. to avoid worst of heat.
Date: Saturday 7 November 0700 Meet at Lovejoy St Carpark for carpooling etc
0715 Depart Mudgee 138km Can travel in convoy
0915 Meet at Lost City South carpark and then 0930 Lost City South Trail to Lost City North and return to Lost City South via Miners Pass Link.
After walk return to Lithgow (accommodation)
Date: Sunday 8 November 0800 Meet at intersection of Atkinson & Inch Sts to travel out to Glow Worm Tunnel (36km-47mins) 0845 Meet at Glow Worm Tunnel carpark 0900 Glow Worm Tunnel via Wolgan Valley Loop- (anticlockwise) 10km • Grade 4
