Distance from Mudgee is 500km – to the nearest town of Guthega (about 8 hrs of travel) Description of route: Fire Trail and cross country tracks. Approximate total distance 40km, (and easier than the Six Foot Track), First Day: 4km, Second day; is the longest 14km, other days approx 6km. Staying overnight in old historical huts. Sleeping on floors in most huts. Tents are required in case huts are occupied/shared. Time available to enjoy the hut area. The Snowy Mountains are magical at this time of year.
