National Park hike -Kerrabee

Club Activity: National Park Hike – Kerrabee
Date: Sunday 9 August 2026
Leader(s): Bill Kempton and walk ‘host’ Isaac Hill Grade: Difficult  Walk Distance: 8-9km full loop.

Activity Description: Walk starts on private property in the locality of Kerrabee, heading off into the National Park. A loop walk heading west up to ridge, following ridge south to lookout/summit, following an undulating east turn around to the return leg north, that follows a well formed fire trail back to the property.
Activity Conditions: moderate bush walking (light bush bashing for half the distance), as well as 2km of steep grades in total, steep ascent at .o5km and 3km technical descent at 4.5 km and 5.5km with 3.5 km of easy fire rail/walking tracks towards the end of walk.(Isaac has local knowledge of this area and multiple walks however a first for the club in this area) and sent in these pictures to entice you to join in.

option to meet prior at 
Lovejoy Street carpark (Douro Street entrance) for registering and carpooling (as reqd) for travel to Kerrabee. Time departing Mudgee 8:30am.
Travel Notes: Mudgee to walk destination approx 1 hr 15mins (105km)   Meeting Time: 10am at Kerrabee address.  
Meeting Place: 2999 Bylong Valley Way – Kerrabee (parking in driveway) What to Bring: Suggest take/use walking poles, gaiters, Plenty of water, food and personal first aid and PPE.  Map Ref: Kerrabee 1:25000
