Walk: 2023 First activity

Back into the swing of things and to get us all moving again our first walk for the year. Where: Lockley Pylon walking track, Leura 
Date: Sunday 12 February 2023

Lockley Pylon – Blue Mountains N/Park.

Weather permitting:
Description: walking distance approx. 7km return – clearly signposted with short steep hills with formed track and some obstacles. (grade 3: allow 2-3hrs) You walk at your pace – it is not a race.
The walking track is an invigorating walk offering awe inspiring view of the Grose Valley with beautiful wildflower displays along the way.

This walking track is located:
Mudgee to Leura 175km  (allow 2.3hrs) – with a pitstop on the way.
From Leura follow the Mount Hay Road (10 kms) to Lockleys Pylon parking area (note gravel road).
Information: Lockley Pylon is named after J.G Lockley; a Journalist who supported conservation efforts in the 1930’s re logging in the area and the renowned Blue Gum Forest.

Meeting place and time: Lovejoy Street carpark at 7.30am for meet and greet and carpooling. What to bring: Your morning tea, your lunch, water to drink and walking poles (optional) sunscreen. What to wear: Sturdy walking shoes (boots) appropriate clothing, a hat to wear.
