Walk: Mt Misery -Mudgee (Report)

Walk Report by Victoria McAdam (#3 for 2023). Mt Misery – Avisford Reserve area, Mudgee Sunday 12 March 2023.

Victoria’s report “A quick chat at Lovejoy street meeting point, followed by a quick drive to the gate of the Mudgee Common…We proceeded with our walk..through the gate we went…ever wary of the threat of flying push bikes and ‘striking’ slithery slimy snakes. Neither were spotted in reality…To the relief of us all. Or maybe just me…Up the hill we went…The chatter was set on pause occasionally as the grade increased.. Then laughter and chatting rang out again. It was hot 30 degrees after lunch, and we all looked as though we had had a shower, an occasional glimpse of a striped umbrella revealed the location of some. Morning tea on the side of the hill with a view out toward Lue, Elephant Mountain clearly visible. A photo opportunity at Mt Misery. Then onto the flashing light. Firefighting planes going over all day, our hearts are with them. A slight breeze and lunch below the MWRC camera…Followed by the down hill section. A good day was had by all. What a great group of people. Thank you all for enjoying this beautiful Sunday, being out-doors in nature and the great Aussie gum trees”.
