Grade: Medium   Walk Distance: 11km in total  (5.5km in and 5.5km return same track) Walk Time: approx. 5 hours + time to explore. Walk Description: Fairly level undulating track with a steep ascent at tracks end. The track is easy to follow, but very overgrown and there are numerous trees over the track, and to note some spectacular views along the way.

Notes and Information from the recent reccy! Bushwalking activity –  this walk has been done by the MBBC previously. A reccy was performed 17.8.23 after the track had been closed by NPWS for a number of years due to landslide. The track was recently reopened to walkers by NPWS, but still remains closed to vehicles as there are a number of fallen trees on the track.  This was confirmed by a visit to NPWS office in Mudgee.

The reccy took place in Mugii Murum-ban State Conservation Area east of Capertee (map ref: Glen Alice 89314N) This is a beautiful walk with spectacular views of escarpments, the Capertee Valley, and to the North at the end of the track.   Also ruins from old shale mine workings and dwellings, plus birds and plant life.
